Short Itinerary: Río Borosa – Cerrada de Elías
If you’re short on time, you can opt for a shorter route that leads directly to the Cerrada de Elías, which is 3.5 kilometers away. The round trip for this option totals 7 kilometers, as you’ll return along the same path. This shorter itinerary is easy and primarily follows wide, flat trails.
For those who choose to tackle the full route, rather than turning back at the Cerrada de Elías, continue on to the Valdeazores Lagoons. While this extended journey presents more challenges and a higher level of difficulty, the rewarding experience makes it worthwhile.
Location: Cerrada de Elías, Río Borosa
Both the long and short trails start at the same location. You can park your car on the A-319 road at kilometer 48, near the Torre del Vinagre. Alternatively, you can follow your GPS to the Río Borosa Visitor Center, where parking is also available. From there, you’ll walk a bit further to reach the fish farm and the Charco de la Cuna, a popular swimming spot in the summer. From this point, follow the forest trail that will guide you through the entire route.
